UNIPROM - Bauxite mining

"BOROVNIK" RED BAUXITE BEARING

Basic geological research was carried out on this deposit in 1972-1989. years. A total of 31 wells with a total length of 8,737 meters were drilled. On that occasion, two ore bodies of red bauxite, Borovnik and Borovnik 2, were found at a depth below 200 meters.
The potential exploration area defined by the Concession Agreement amounts to 2.04 km2.
Detailed geological exploration and preparations for the start of exploitation at the Borovnik II ore body are currently underway. Ore reserves have not yet been calculated; however, based on available data, the reserves are estimated at around 2.5 million tonnes.
For the Borovnik deposit, two exploratory–exploitation drifts with a total length of 3,000 meters have been constructed in accordance with the detailed geological exploration project, which includes exploratory drilling combined with the construction of exploration tunnels. A total of approximately 4,000 meters of exploratory drill holes and 5,200 meters of exploration tunnels are planned.
The value of the planned works with detailed chemical and mineralogical tests is around 9 million euros.
