Minister Šahmanović and Associates on Their First Visit to Uniprom

Today, Minister Šahmanović, accompanied by his team, visited the company Uniprom, including its new facilities—the billet and silumin factories, as well as the solar power plant and natural LNG installations.
On this occasion, Minister Šahmanović emphasized the importance of supporting industrial development, especially companies that build their capacities on the principles of a green economy. He highlighted the encouraging fact that Uniprom has been recognized by international institutions and organizations as a company that conducts and plans its operations in an environmentally and economically sustainable manner, integrating new technologies while adhering to European standards.

“This approach demonstrates that industry can develop and mineral resources can be exploited responsibly and sustainably, without compromising environmental protection and public health,” stated Šahmanović.
The development of Uniprom serves as confirmation that Montenegro can and should develop its industry as a primary key to economic progress.
“We thank Minister Šahmanović, Secretary Mirsad Ćatović, Zorana Sekulić, and Nebojša Koprivica from the Ministry of Mining for their visit and excellent cooperation. We are pleased that the Energy Community has recognized Uniprom as a regional leader in achieving ecological standards and reducing CO2 emissions. We are in constant communication with representatives of the Energy Community to continue fulfilling all European requirements related to sustainable operations and environmental protection.”
Uniprom plans to complete the entire solar panel construction project by June 2025, achieving full energy independence from Montenegro’s Electric Power Industry (EPCG). This development will positively impact the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant while fully aligning Uniprom’s operations with European sustainable practices. By 2026, the export of products to the European market, specifically for the automotive industry, will be possible provided the production process uses renewable energy sources. Uniprom is taking a step forward, prepared for export in line with European standards.
