MINISTER MUJOVIĆ: KAP is essential for Montenegro

Minister of Energy and Mining Saša Mujović visited the Aluminum Plant in Podgorica today and met with the company's management. Minister of Energy and Mining Saša Mujović said during the visit that he was pleasantly surprised by what he found on the ground and that such a Plant is exactly what Montenegro lacks.
"It is an extremely modern factory, led by a management team with a clear vision of development, which is most important. In a conversation with Mr. Pejović, I learned about the company's connection with the automotive industry, and what the Aluminum Plant produces can be well implemented from that perspective," he said.
The Minister emphasized that Montenegro as a state should be proud of such a company which, as he said, employs around 350 workers and has an impact on the entire surrounding industries connected to it.
"Already, 2 megawatts of solar panels have been installed with the intention of producing up to 12 megawatts of energy. So, high-quality work is being done, and really all congratulations to the management. I think this country should support the Plant because the usefulness to this country should be measured by how many workers a factory employs and whether it pays taxes regularly, everything else is pure populism," Minister Mujović stated.
After expressing satisfaction with the minister's visit and highlighting its importance, Uniprom owner Veselin Pejović reminded that after an extremely difficult period caused by the pandemic and significant investments through the opening of two large factories, they continue with the development of KAP.
"Soon, by installing solar panels, we will become completely energy independent of the Montenegrin Electric Utility, and two more factories are planned. A ticket factory with a capacity of 70,000 tons and an Alloys factory with a capacity of 30,000 tons. As I promised when I took over KAP, we have not stopped with investments, despite everything happening in the world regarding the aluminum industry. Also, by building solar panels, our products will receive a green certificate, guaranteeing that our production is exclusively powered by renewable energy sources," Pejović said, explaining that this way, CO2 emissions are reduced for all products of the Plant, which are desirable for the automotive industry.
